Satsang

“As long as you keep moving, it doesn’t matter how slowly you go.”

-Shree Shambav

“One thing: you have to walk, and create the way by your walking; you will not find a ready-made path. It is not so cheap, to reach to the ultimate realization of truth. You will have to create the path by walking yourself; the path is not ready-made, lying there and waiting for you. It is just like the sky: the birds fly, but they don’t leave any footprints. You cannot follow them; there are no footprints left behind.” –  Osho

Satsang derives from the Sanskrit words sat means “being,” “essence,” or “reality” and sanga means “association”.

A Satsang aims to bring together individuals, who are inclined towards spirituality and are striving to conceive the absolute truth. Satsang also helps in conquering the confused and evil propensities of the mind, dispelling one’s ego and getting enlightened in the company of the elevated soul. It is a valuable means for our moral and spiritual growth.

Satsang is the place where you can ask questions or doubts about the path of spirituality and practices. One gets to share spiritual experiences and their significance in perceive absolute truth. It gives others the motivation and clarity of thought in the path of realisation.

Listening to other spiritual efforts, and spiritual experiences help in understanding many pondering queries. Als one can get answers to many doubts and difficulties during his difficult times; which otherwise may have hindered his growth path.

Satsang wants man

in the name of the One Supreme Creator

of all beings, God or Existence,

Whatever you call Him.

Satsang does not think in terms of

Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist ;

regarding each, and every one

as a child of Him alone,

Satsang wants to make all

submissive to that One.

Satsang helps to communion with the higher self, for the sincere seeker of ultimate truth. Reading holy texts or ancient scriptures forms part of Satsang, reading text helps in understanding higher self as well to clear most of the cloud that we have built all these years, based on our belief and system.

One can choose to listen to the bhajans, singing, chanting and dance, either way, it helps in centring the mind, getting deeper into the inner self.

“The word bhajan is, derived from the word “ Bhaj “ means to share. Singing helps to bring serenity, composure and tranquility, also helps in merging into the harmony of sound, floating on its waves of frequency, with a sense of contentment and meditation,” Listening to these sounds helps to rejuvenate our body, mind and spirit.

The entire universe is, made of rhythmic patterns. When sounds are in harmony, there is music; non-harmonious sounds create chaos. Similarly, when there is rhythm or harmony in life, the heart blossoms; there is humanism. It is this rhythm that takes us back to our source, the consciousness.

Satsang helps to nurture the sattvic and win over the rajasic and tamasic elements within; it becomes difficult to even think about almighty and spiritual practices. One also gets the benefit of the growth of Divine Consciousness (Chaitanya) and positivity that emanates from the sattvic.

Satsangs are not limited to any culture or geographical region. Whether it is the harmonious sound of gongs in Buddhist meditations or Jewish hymns since ancient times, people from all cultures and traditions have used music to further people on their spiritual journey.

with self-elevating, efficient and active,

progressive go of service,

growing in integration

that is mutually fulfilling

being illuminated with the inspiration

that cultivates the good,

with an eye to fulfilling that Ideal man

being meaningful in that unparalleled One.

However, the amount of positivity received by each seeker is directly proportional to the seekers spiritual level and lack of ego. Om Shree Shambav.
